Blessings in a Backpack of Lehigh Valley and Lehigh Valley Oral Surgery and Implant Center team up to help change a few children’s lives.
BACK-TO-SCHOOL SEASON is in full swing! Some parents are sad to have less time with their children, others are ecstatic to have the house kid-free for seven hours a day. But all grown-ups can look back on what it was like to be a child in school, and that includes our team.
This weekend we did just that and attempted to make the future memories for a few families a little better by working with Blessings in a Backpack and packing 680 bags of nutritious food.
Blessings in a Backpack of the Lehigh Valley & Lehigh Valley Oral Surgery & Implant Center have worked together for the last 2 years to help provide food for elementary school kids on the weekend who otherwise would go hungry.
We initially were introduced to this fantastic organization through our office treatment coordinator, Jill Presto. She brought us to her friend, Jessica Schwartz, who has been guiding this organization for several years now. She found a need that was not being filled and decided to do something about it. Jessica, with the help of her family, helped to create this non-profit organization to aid the Lehigh Valley community and many children in need of their assistance. It allows small businesses like ours to help our local communities and take part in helping our friends and neighbors.
Our dental assistant shared her story which brings light to what a real gift programs such as Blessings in a Backpack of the Lehigh Valley are. This truly hits home when you see it help one of your own. Packing 680 bags was a labor of love and we saw the impact this can make on others.
These families deserve the chance to feel all the back to school excitement without having to worry about food at home. Thanks to organizations like Blessings in a Backpack of the Lehigh Valley we were able to give back just a little and hopefully will continue to do so in the years to come. Get out there and make a difference! You never know who’s life you can leave an everlasting impression on.
